Children's and Young People's Programs

At Cherrydale, we strive to nurture families, and to include children in every aspect of church life through learning, worship and service.

Infants: Nursery care in Room 104

Ages 2 through 5: Preschool Sunday School class, Early Years Preschool, Vacation Bible School, Easter Egg Hunt, Secret Santa Shop

Elementary School: “Cheetahs” Rotational Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Easter Egg Hunt, Secret Santa Shop

Middle School: “Cheetahs” Rotational Sunday School, Youth Group, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Summer mission trip, Confirmation class

High School: Sunday School, Youth Group, Boy Scouts, Summer mission trip

Parents: Bible study, Parent’s night out, Small Group Bible study/devotionals, Men’s Prayer breakfast, Women’s Bible Study, Good Grief/Moving Forward, Miriam Circle

And for the entire family...fun and inspirational events, including: Rally Day picnic in September, Gifts for Life fair (alternative holiday gifts that support those in need around the world), Family movie nights, Blessing of the Animals service, Living Nativity, Concert events, Lenten suppers, Family Christmas Eve service, monthly pot-luck luncheons, and more!

Children are always welcome in worship on Sunday morning.

Cherrydale Cheetahs Sunday School for children K through 5th Grade:

Come experience our Rotational Sunday School! We study the Bible in many ways: through art, cooking, games, storytelling/drama, and more!

Our Sunday School will begin Sept. 19 at 9:30 am

Our Nursery:

All infants to toddlers are invited to the downstairs nursery during worship. Children can nap, play, and be held in the gentle nurture of our nursery staff while parents worship upstairs.

Early Years Preschool:

Early Years Preschool is an on-site Preschool and Parents Day Out care provider for children ages 6 months to 5 years.

Ministry With Youth - see our Youth page.
Sunday School and informal discussions are held and are often student-led. They build on our youth's commitment to friendship and service. Youth Ministry is grounded in the Wesleyan principles of Education, Worship, Devotion, Justice, Compassion, and Community Building.

Teens actively participate in service projects, Covenant Discipleship groups, Confirmation, and as assistants in Vacation Bible School. They also help lead Sunday worship by singing in the choir and serving as liturgists, crucifers, acolytes and speakers.

Help is needed!

Set-up Montgomery Hall on Saturday, help serve food, bring large coolers, purchase ice for sno-cones and coolers, purchase balloons for decorating, etc. (Reimbursement for items purchased for Rally Day is available.)
Moving tables and chairs to the outdoor space on Sunday morning before the 10:00 service and in returning them to storage following the picnic. Many hands help make this chore go quickly!
Help with grilling, serving, and getting supplies to and from the kitchen.
