Adult Programs

No matter where you are on life's journey,
there's something at Cherrydale for you...

 Sunday Morning Programs
Our Adult Sunday School offers an opportunity to examine and discuss different scriptures and topics to increase our understanding of God's love for us in these troubled times.

The Adult Sunday is starting a study of the Book of Genesis.
Why are there two slightly different creation stories at the beginning of Genesis?
Why does God seem to always favor younger sons over older sons in Genesis?
Which person in Genesis has his name changed to Israel by God?
What promise does God make to Noah after the flood?
Join us as we share our questions, faith, and ideas on the first book of the Bible.
The Adult Sunday School meets each Sunday morning at 9:30 in the Emurian Room.

Small Groups
NJOY (Not Just Older Youth)  welcomes senior citizens and friends on the 3rd Thursday of each month, September through May at 12 noon.  For a nominal fee, lunch and a variety of special programs are provided.  Everyone is welcome and welcome to bring a friend.  There is never a need to make reservations.  The attendance averages from 25 to 35 each month and we are always looking for interesting programs for the group. For more information, contact the church office.
NJOY is on hold for now. Details later.

The Men’s Prayer Breakfast Join us for good food, uplifting discussions and prayer before work.  We meet at the church, Fridays at 7:00 am.
In June, we meet at the Silver Diner in Clarendon.
(We follow the Arlington Co. school schedule, so if the schools start late or are closed, we do not meet.)

Women's Circles:
Miriam Circle meets three times a year: in autumn, winter and spring.  We gather for fellowship, prayer, and service, and enjoy dinner together at the home of a member.  Currently we are supporting Demeter House, Vanguard Service's residential home for families dealing with substance abuse.  We collect both used cell phones and the small personal care items distributed by hotels and motels, and sort and deliver them to Vanguard.  In addition, we help with supplies for Doorways' group home and deliver for Meals on Wheels.  Above all, the Circle brings us closer to each other.  We're able to share our joys and lift up our concerns to God. Please join us--it's fun!  For more information, contact the church office.

Sarah Circle meets once per month at the church for fellowship. We bring a sandwich for lunch and share a special treat. All women are invited to join these circle meetings!

Women's Bible Study
is taking a break for now.
